Future POMS Annual Conference Sites
(Conference cities through 2012 are firm, beyond are planned)
Chicago: April 20 - 23, 2012
Chicago, "the Windy City", and often called the friendliest city in the U.S., will host the 2012 annual POMS conference. While in Chicago make time to visit the Navy Pier and its boardwalk, Millennium Park and the mammoth stainless-steel Cloud Gate sculpture, the 103rd floor of Skydeck Chicago in the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower), the 94th floor Hancock Observatory, and the Lincoln Park Zoo. Chicago is famous for its theatrical scene. Landmark Loop theaters in the city's bustling Downtown Theater District host mega-hit musicals, plays, and dance productions straight from Broadway as part of Broadway in Chicago. Other theatrical treasures in the city include the Goodman Theatre which consistently produces unsurpassed classic and contemporary works, the Steppenwolf Theatre Company which is well known for its cutting-edge and ground-breaking plays, and the legendary Chicago Theatre, whose famous C-H-I-C-A-G-O marquee lights up State Street. The city's wide variety of ethnic food (ranging from Mediterranean, Indian, to Middle Eastern, and Pacific Islands), astonishing architecture, and 29 miles of lakefront paths, which makes it one of the world's most walkable and beautiful cities, are enough reasons to visit Chicago.
4th World Conference on Production & Operations Management: P&OM Amsterdam 2012
Theme: Serving the world
Main Conference: July 1-4, 2012
Doctoral Consortium: JunDoctoral Consortium: JunDoctoral Consortium: JunDoctoral Consortium: June 29 - 30, 2012 Welcome Reception: July 1 & Optional Excursion, July 5 NOTE: This conference is also the Annual EurOMA conference for 2012 In 2012, the Production and Operations Management World Conference (P&OM Amsterdam 2012) will return to Europe, after having had its previous European conference in 2000 in Sevilla. Ever since the 17th century, the low countries (currently Netherlands and Belgium) have had an international and open orientation based on trade. Still now, these countries are at the heart of many global operations, with a strong presence in both (physical) supply chain and (financial) services. This hub role in many global activities and its focus to conduct operations in a sustainable manner, make it the ideal place to meet in the prime worldwide conference in production and operations management. The city is easy to get around, so you can explore on your lunch break and be back in plenty of time for the afternoon sessions. You can travel on foot or by bicycle easily and safely, at night as well as during the day. Amsterdam's canals offer another way to see the city-take it easy and embark on one of the many canal cruises, or be adventurous and peddle your way around on a water bike. Be sure to make time for art and history-the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and Anne Frank House are just three of the world-class sites for which Amsterdam is famous.

Auckland, NZ: January 2013
Auckland, New Zealand will be the site of our 2013 POMS International Conference. Our host is the Auckland University of Technology. Auckland is New Zealand's largest city with approximately 1.4 million people. It is a harbor city with a subtropical climate. In January the weather is usually calm with temperatures about 30 degrees Celsius (mid-80s Fahrenheit).

New Orleans: April 26-29, 2013
The 2013 POMS meeting is planned for "The Big Easy," and it's one conference you won't want to miss! Spend some time in the colorful French Quarter-you can chart your own course or take a walking tour. The Quarter offers a wealth of opportunities: plan your next article over a beignet or a steaming bowl of gumbo, pick up souvenirs for your family at the French Market or Royal Street, and tap your toes to the live jazz music found all over town. To see the city from a different perspective, ride the St. Charles streetcar or take a riverboat cruise on the Mississippi. You can also enjoy New Orleans' most famous celebration at Mardi Gras World, or cool off at the Aquarium of the Americas or the New Orleans Museum of Art.
